PACKWOOD HOUSE TO OPEN IN SKANEATELES, NEW YORK

Elegant Guest Rooms Overlooking Skaneateles Lake
Skaneateles, New York – Packwood House, Skaneateles’ newest lakefront property, is scheduled to open its doors to the public on December 5th, 2003. Packwood House is located in the heart of the village of Skaneateles and offers guests elegant overnight accommodations in its 19 tastefully decorated guest rooms. Most of the rooms at Packwood House have gorgeous views of Skaneateles Lake and the Village of Skaneateles. With its contemporary design and many in-room accommodations, the Packwood House is the ideal destination for both the leisure and business travelers alike. Its 5,000 square foot underground parking facility is convenient for guests and is the only one of its kind in Skaneateles.

Packwood House is owned by Basin Associates, LLC, and will be managed by the Sherwood Inn. Basin Associates CEO Michael P. Falcone, also CEO of The Pioneer Companies, is the chief investor in the Packwood House. Sherwood Inn Owner and CEO William Eberhardt, in addition to being the Packwood’s operating partner, is also an investor in the property.

Located just one block east of the Sherwood Inn on West Genesee Street in Skaneateles, the Packwood House is the only other lodging property besides the Sherwood to overlook Skaneateles Lake. The property, which previously housed the old post office, was first purchased in 2000. The old post office building was demolished in April of 2003 when construction of Packwood House began. The new building, which was designed by architectural firm Holmes King Kallquist & Associates of Syracuse, is approximately 16,000 square feet, including 4,400 square feet of first-floor retail space.

Packwood House’s proximity to the Sherwood Inn will enable guests to make use of the Sherwood’s catering facilities and meeting rooms, as well as its dining room and full-service tavern. In order to accommodate the additional guests of the Packwood House, the Sherwood Inn is scheduled to undergo a major renovation of its dining room and catering facilities between February and April 2004. The renovation will reconfigure the dining and conference rooms enabling them to accommodate larger groups while providing much needed updates to its conference facilities.
