Skaneateles
Known as the “eastern gateway to the Finger Lakes,”
the historic village of Skaneateles is located on the north
shore of Skaneateles Lake, one of the cleanest and most beautiful
bodies of water in the world. Conveniently located just a
short drive from the NY State Thruway and Syracuse’s
Hancock International Airport, Skaneateles is a community
of rare charm with lovely old homes, quaint shops and galleries.
The many dining establishments in the area have a reputation
for superb quality and variety. Skaneateles has been a vacation
spot for the First Family of the United States as well as
many other families for years and years. There are many things
to see and do, including a scenic boat cruise around the lake,
a chamber music concert hosted by the Skaneateles Festival
or a visit to the historic Creamery building to view Skaneateles
artifacts. Also, rent a boat to see the lake on your own,
enjoy lakeside concerts in Clift Park just across from Packwood
House and polo games on summer weekends. Experience the FallFest,
Dickens’ Christmas, WinterFest, hockey and skating at
Allyn Arena, and downhill or cross country skiing at nearby
trails during the fall and winter months. There is no shortage
of activity for guests looking for adventure, and no better
place to just sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery.
